St. Marys River/Grand Lake St. Marys was designated an Important Bird Area (IBA) in dedication ceremonies Wednesday by the Tri-Moraine Audubon Society. There are 66 such areas in Ohio. An IBA is one where there are numerous birds in rare or unique habitats.
