Judith Boyer Bray
Judith Boyer Bray, 66, St. Marys, formerly of Miamisburg, died Aug. 28, 2013, at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born Dec. 29, 1946, in Dayton, to Wilbur and Betty Ennis Boyer. On May 15, 1993, she married the Rev. Dr. Eddie Bray, who survives in St. Marys.
Surviving are three stepchildren, John (Debby) Eagle of Walled Lake, Mich., Tami (Tom) Bray-Harris of Miamisburg and Adam (Ashly) Bray of Germantown; six stepgrandchildren, Johnny Eagle, Chris Eagle, Talon, Tiernan and Telisah Bray-Harris and Lorelai Bray; one stepgreat-grandchild, Alivia Eagle; a sister, Sharon Phillips of Germantown; and nieces and nephews, Angela Wozniak, Jodi Simpson, Major Erik Simpson, Kevin Phillips, Joel Phillips and Ryan Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda Simpson.
She was a 1965 graduate of Miamisburg High School and a graduate of the Raymond Walters College, University of Cincinnati. She was a dental hygienist in the Dayton community for many years.
She was best known for being a member of the "Boyer Sisters," a singing group that performed on the WLW weekly program called "Midwestern Hayride." They were regular guests on the Nick Clooney show and performed at many other venues.
She also enjoyed doing cross-stitch work and loved spoiling her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys, where she and her husband had served for more than five years. Her home congregation is Trinity United Church of Christ in Miamisburg.
Funeral rites are 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Church of Christ in Miamisburg, the Revs. Joel Getts and Jeanette Tangeman officiating.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, and 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.
Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Dayton or a charity of the donor's choice.
