Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Brookhart, 86, Coldwater, died Sept. 13, 2013, at Celina Manor.

She was born May 17, 1927, in Coldwater, to Robert H. and Eulalia "Peg" Bernard Giere. On Feb. 4, 1948, she married Dane Lamar Brookhart, who died in 1993.

She is survived by eight children, Curtis (Ruth) Brookhart, New Bremen, Craig Brookhart, Cleveland, Douglas (Marjorie) Brookhart, Dayton, Dale Brookhart, Dayton, Roy (Cris) Brookhart, Cary, N.C., Gail (William) Standhardt, Indianapolis, Ind., Anita (Alan) Olsen, Germany, and Barbara (Chuck) Pinney, Lima; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen (Jay) Dotson, Tucson, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by a grandchild; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Marian (Tom) Brown.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality and the church choir. She worked at the former Jutte's IGA and Kremer's Restaurant in Coldwater. She was a volunteer tutor and was involved in the placement of foreign exchange students.

Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater.

Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.

Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association, State of the Heart Hospice or donor's choice.
