Lowell E. Gene Walls, 80, of Mendon, died at 1:55 p.m. Dec. 23, 2013, with his family by his side at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

He was born Feb. 11, 1933, in Van Wert, to Luther and Gertrude Fackler Walls. On Nov. 10, 1956, he married Jeanette Homan, who survives in Mendon.

Also surviving are two sons, Kevin (Barb) Walls, Celina, and Kerry (Heidi) Walls, Mendon; two daughters, Kelly (Jeff) Lloyd, Venedocia, and Kathy (Tom) Coon, Celina; siblings, Lois Feasby, Convoy, Eleanor Feasby, New Haven, Ind., Shirley Roediger, Celina, Carolyn Sue John, Van Wert, Don (Arlene) Walls, New Philadelphia, and Gary (Sharon) Walls, Mendon; in-laws, Evelyn Moorman, Sidney, Leonard (Betty) Jutte, Rockford, Vick (Della Mae) Rosenbeck, Pittsford, Mich., Raymond (Carol) Homan, Anna, Dennis Homan, Florida, Preston (Linda) Boardwine, Anna, and Wilbert Stoll, Zolfo Springs, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren.

Deceased are a grandson, Aaron Coon; brothers, David Walls and Dewayne Walls; sisters, Dorothy Stoll and Alice Parnell; brothers-in-law, Stan Roediger, Gayle Feasby, Verlin Feasby, Curtis Parnell and Jerry Moorman; and a sister-in-law, Donna Walls.

He was the owner and operator of Walls Plumbing & Heating. He also was a longtime farmer and Pioneer Seed salesman. He attended Rockford High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Spencerville.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Kenneth Schnipke officiating. Burial will be at North Grove Cemetery.

Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
