Howard Coats
Howard N Coats, 91, husband of Norma Joan Coats, went to join his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 20, 2020.
Born January 1, 1929 in Celina OH, he was the son of late Howard F. Coats and Mildred L (Roberts) Coats.
Howard served in the U.S. Army (1st Cavalry) during the Korean War. He then worked as a plumber and Pipefitter until retirement. In his spare time, he was an active member of United Methodist Church, a Lifetime Member of the Masons, a respected Boy Scout Leader, a Member of the Lima Pipefitter and Plumbers Union #776 and he was a Lima VFW Cootie.
Howard is preceded in death by his daughter Cathy Schreima, his son Mike Coats, his sisters Joyce Ward, Betty Coombs and his brothers Irvin Coats, Paul Coats and Don Coats.
Howard is deeply missed by his wife of 68 years, Joan Coats of Sebring, FL, his daughter, Tammy (Terry) Ault of Sebring, FL, his son Doug of Callaway, Virgina, daughter-in-law Sheryl Coats of Ohio City, OH along with 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, sister Barb Doty of Wapakoneta, OH, brothers Dallas and Jimmy (Bonnie) Coats of Celina, OH.
Howard's memorial service will be at 1:00 PM on March 19, 2021 at the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
Howard's favorite sayings were: "Life is short eat dessert first" and "Laughter is the key to a happy life."
